Amidships is this nice deck.
It can be found just below the
lifeboats. This is the lowest of the outdoor decks.
The lifeboat storage deck is
one level above. This level provides
walkway access forward to the bow viewing area.
Picture of the bow
viewing area. This is the best
place to watch the ship leave (and reenter) port. Note that the
cruise ship's horn is
nearby. The ship's horn is quite loud when
heard from this location.
View from the bow observation area
looking forward.
It's interesting to watch the large dock lines being handled when
leaving or reentering port.
Large equipment seen on the bow deck includes a giant capstan and windlass for handling the ship's
anchor and dock lines.
There is little shade
available on the upper decks of the Palm
Beach Princess. TIP: Some passengers
prefer to watch the ship leave
port from this shady location.
It can be found on the forward bow
observation deck, just under the ship's bridge.
Picture of the ship's bridge.
This bridge design is open to the
elements. It allows the captain
to walk from one side of the ship
to the other without exiting the helm area.
Picture of the uppermost deck
on the Palm Beach Princess. This
deck offers great views and strong sunshine for
sunbathers. No shaded areas are
available.
All the way aft (rear) are two
outdoor passenger decks. The
higher of the two features a shaded
bar. The lower deck features
the ship's pool.
A passenger takes in the ocean view
from the after deck (near the pool.)
A couple enjoys the sights
from the very back of the Palm Beach
Princess. Singer Island and the Palm Beach Inlet (Lake Worth
Inlet) are seen in the distance as the ship heads to sea.
From
here we move on to explore the ship's swimming
facilities, outside bar
and lifeboats. Click
